PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Michigan Reentry Initiative "Walk With Me" Program (MRI-WWM)
designed to create a prototypical reentry system that addresses the adult
offender population in areas of institutional readiness, community reentry
and stabilization. The program will target Wayne County in efforts to
protect public safety and reduce the rate of recidivism occurring among
paroled offenders reentering this geographic location. Efforts will be
tailored to offenders (18 to 35) and provide close coordination among
institutional corrections, law enforcement, community corrections, and
other community/faith-based service providers.
This innovative reentry initiative is a holistic three-phased program
that promotes promising best practices and hopes to provide a nationwide
protocol by utilizing Wings of Faith, Inc. as the Community One-Stop
Reentry Authority.
